Ariel Winter (born Ariel Winter Workman on Janurary 28th, 1998, in Los Angeles California) is an American actress, singer and voice actor. Ariel started her acting career young appearing in an Cool Whip commercial at age 6. At the age of 7 she was offered her first TV role in the CBS comedy show Listen Up! Monk Bones followed, as did ER. Gretchen was the character she played in the year 2007 on Disney's original channel's animation show Phineas and Ferb. Her breakthrough role in live action came two years later as Alex Dunphy of the hit television series Modern Family. Along with the other Modern Family co-stars, she has won four Screen Actors Guild awards for the best performance of an ensemble cast in the comedy show.
