
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actor and producer. Her film career began in Mexico which she played in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that resulted in an Ariel Award nomination. With appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal as Frida the painter in Frida (2002), which she also co-produced as well, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to win the Academy Award [6].
